Red Sea Attacks: American Warship and Commercial Ships Targeted Amid Middle East Conflict

Red Sea
Red Sea: There was quite a chaotic situation in the Red Sea recently.

An American warship and some commercial ships got attacked on Sunday informed the Pentagon. Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for hitting two ships they thought were connected to Israel, but they denied targeting any American Navy ships.

This attack could mean things are getting more serious in a string of attacks happening in the Middle East because of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The Pentagon confirmed the attacks on the USS Carney and other ships but didn’t have all the details yet.

The USS Carney is a specific kind of destroyer. It’s not clear how much damage happened during the attacks.

There was news about a possible drone attack and explosions in the Red Sea from the British military, but they didn’t share much about it.Offering popular women’s necklaces such as pendants, chokers and chain necklace. Shop for jewelry in a variety of metals and gemstones to suit any occasion

The Pentagon didn’t know where the attack came from. On the other hand, a Houthi spokesperson said they hit one ship with a missile and another with a drone in a place that links the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. They said these ships ignored warnings from Houthi officials before the attack.

The Yemeni armed forces are warning Israeli ships not to go through the Red Sea until Israel stops attacking Gaza. They’ve made it clear that any Israeli ships or people linked to them will be at risk if they don’t follow this warning.

They mentioned the names of the attacked ships—the Unity Explorer and Number 9—and connected them to people or companies in Israel.

These attacks by the Houthis on ships and their drone and missile launches toward Israel are part of the ongoing conflict.

According to a U.S. official, the attack began around 10 a.m. in Yemen and lasted for about five hours. The USS Carney managed to stop at least one drone during the attack.

The whole situation with the Israel-Hamas war is making global shipping a target. Even though there was a short break in fighting, it seems like things might get worse again with more attacks.

This isn’t the first time the Houthis have captured a ship related to Israel. They’re still holding a ship near Hodeida, a port city. And not long ago, missiles landed close to another U.S. warship that had helped an Israeli-linked ship briefly seized by gunmen.

Although the Houthis haven’t directly targeted Americans for a while, these recent attacks raise the stakes in this maritime conflict. In 2016, the U.S. responded to missiles fired at its Navy ships by destroying three radar sites controlled by the Houthis.
